Should Marvel Studios and Disney come calling, Chloe Bennet is game to return as Quake in an Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off series. Recently, unsubstantiated rumors of just such a project began circulating on social media, suggesting that the show would be coming to Disney+. Bennet has since debunked the rumors, but reveals that she would be interested in the show if it ever becomes a real possibility.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 7, which will serve as the show's final, is set to premiere next week. During a recent interview, Chloe Bennet, who has starred on the Marvel series since the very beginning, was asked about whether or not she would like to return as Skye, aka Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, in a spin-off series, provided the opportunity. Here's what Bennet had to say about it.
"Of course, that would be so much fun. I would love to. It was funny because people were mad. [laughs] I would love to, that would be amazing. But no, I have only seen that on Twitter. I haven't heard anything about that on a professional level. But it'd be really fun and I'd love that."
The Quake spin-off rumors were running rampant on Twitter over the last week or so. Fans were asking Chloe Bennet directly about it. Eventually, the actress stepped in to debunk the reports, replying to a fan who asked her about it. Bennet tweeted the following in response.
"I wish that were true... but they aren't... I haven't heard anything about that besides on twitter"
For now, the project is simply something that could exist, but is it something Marvel Studios and Disney would consider? That is difficult to say. We know that Disney+ will play host to several live-action MCU shows, such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Hawkeye, Loki, She-Hulk, Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel. But those shows will be heavily tied to the movies. Marvel Studios is largely moving away from the prior set of live-action shows, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. So a spin-off feels doubtful, for the time being.
That said, Quake is an important character in the pages of Marvel Comics. She actually served as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a time and was even a short-term member of the Avengers. She also headed up the Secret Warriors at one point. So there would, in theory, be plenty to explore with the character on her own. In the meantime, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will take Quake, Coulsen and the gang back to the past for a round of time traveling adventures before their journey concludes. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 7 is set to premiere on May 27. This news comes to us via Syfy Wire.
