AMC has revealed that production is under way on Preacher Season 3, with the network announcing the casting of four new cast members, one of whom is the last living relative of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper). AMC renewed the hit series back in October, but we haven't heard much else about the new season, until today's announcement. The new cast members will be Tony-winner Betty Buckley (Supergirl, Split) as Gran'ma, Colin Cunningham (Blood Drive, Falling Skies) as TC, Liz McGeever (Star, Nashville) as Christina and Jeremy Childs (The Last Castle, Nashville) as Jody. AMC has also released new descriptions for each character, which you can check out below.

Betty Buckley's Gran'ma is described as a spiritist with true powers, who can cast spells and even bring back the dead (for a price). Pay the fee, or pay with your soul to feed Gran'ma's thirst for eternal youth. She is weathered, tough, and mean, but also intelligent beyond measure. She's Jesse's only living family and she loves him. Colin Cunningham's TC is a man born of the bayou and the loyal caretaker and soldier for Gran'ma. Weasely and wiry, he'll gladly tell you about his perversions... whether you ask him or not. While he seems like the friendliest guy you'll ever meet, don't make the mistake of turning your back on him.

Liz McGeever's Christina is said to be "capable and efficient," with a face that lures customers in for her family business. Christina hides it well, but she hates her job and has dreams and aspirations outside of her current life, but suffers to protect her child. The final new character, Jeremy Childs' Jody, is massive and intimidating, who also emanates danger. He's the enforcer for Gran'ma and the only man Jesse's never beaten in a fight. He's nobody's fool and not someone to cross.

After Jesse accidentally discovered that God is absent from Heaven, Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy set out on a road trip to find Him, all while being hunted by the Saint of Killers, an unstoppable, mythical killer from Hell. The trio's pursuit led them to New Orleans, where they dodged local gangsters, dangerous agents, and other unimaginable mayhem on their way to uncovering an even bigger secret. Now, with Tulip's life and Cassidy's friendship in the balance, Jesse must rely on a mysterious figure from his past in order to save his friends and continue on with his mission. Production on Season 2 started at the end of January in 2017, so it seems that Season 3 is keeping a similar production schedule.

These new cast members will be joined by returning stars Dominic Cooper (Jesse Custer), Ruth Negga (Tulip) and Joseph Gilgun (Cassidy). The Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production was developed for television by Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Sausage Party, Neighbors 2, Superbad) and showrunner Catlin (Breaking Bad), based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. The series is executive produced by Catlin, as well as Rogen, Goldberg and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures, Neal H. Moritz and Ori Marmur for Original Film and Vivian Cannon, Jason Netter and Ken F. Levin. Hopefully we'll learn more about this new season of the AMC series soon.
