AMC was one of the first major networks on cable to help usher in the golden age of modern television with shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Even long after those shows have left us, they are continuing to push the envelope with shows like Preacher, which is currently airing its second season. The comic book series is unlike any other on TV right now, as evidenced by this brand new Preacher Season 2 trailer that debuted this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con.

The trailer made its way onto the AMC YouTube channel after it debuted in Hall H at SDCC to a packed crowd who were eager to see more of the beloved comic book series turned hit TV show. Preacher Season 2 has brought in some truly bizarre and risky elements, such as Noah Taylor as Adolf Hitler and a whole lot of Ian Colletti as Arseface. Like we said, this is unlike any other show on TV right now. The footage teases even more violence and extra strange vibes for the rest of Season 2. But if you like Preacher, that's probably great.

The first season of Preacher essentially served as a prequel to the source material in the original comic books. The Preacher Season 1 finale pretty much left the show in a place where Season 2 was able to pick up right at the start of the actual comic books. There have been changes, but this season is more in line with what fans of the comics were probably expecting. The series was written and developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who serve as executive producers on the series. Garth Ennis, who co-created the original Preacher comic, is also a producer on the series. Unfortunately, co-creator Steve Dillon passed away recently, so he won't be able to put his stamp on the series moving forward.

Preacher is based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name. The story is a supernatural and very dark comedic drama that follows a Texas preacher named Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) who is inhabited by a mysterious entity called Genesis that gives him the power to make people do whatever he commands. Preacher, as a comic, is incredibly influential and highly regarded by fans and the creative community. It is one of the most popular series in the history of Vertigo, which is an imprint of DC Comics.

If you need to get caught up, Preacher Season 1 is currently on Hulu. If you're all caught up on the show and ready to go, AMC airs Preacher Season 2 on Mondays, so be sure to tune in. For now, you can check out the brand new San Diego Comic-Con trailer for the rest of Preacher season 2 for yourself below. You know, just in case you need a little bit of Adolf Hitler and hardcore violence to cap off your weekend.
