Pooch Perfect is the "ulti-mutt" dog grooming competition series and it's coming to the United States. Hosted by award-winning actress Rebel Wilson, the show is the place where "man's best friend" can become anything. The eight-episode series will showcase 10 of the best dog groomers in the country, along with their assistants, competing in a series of "paw-some" themed challenges.

Each week on Pooch Perfect, teams will compete in the Immunity Puppertunity challenge, where one team will earn immunity from elimination. Then, in the Ultimutt Challenge showdown, the remaining teams will face off in an epic grooming transformation, which they will show off on the illustrious dog walk. The trio of all-star celebrity judges - Lisa Vanderpump, Jorge Bendersky and Dr. Callie Harris - will be tasked with voting on the incredible creations and ultimately force one team back to the doghouse every week. It all leads up to the season finale where the top three teams compete for a giant cash prize and the coveted Pooch Perfect first place trophy.

Rebel Wilson announced her excitement for the upcoming American version of Pooch Perfect this morning on social media. She said, "I'm so excited to announce my new dog grooming competition series Pooch Perfect coming to ABC later this year! Our trio of amazing judges Lisa Vanderpump Jorge Bendersky and Dr. Callie Harris and I are ready to bring paw-some themed grooming challenges and adorable puppies to your screens!" It is unclear when the show, which is heading to ABC, will be able to start production. With the public health crisis still going on, it could be a while before we see the first episode, though they are aiming for a spring premiere.

Rebel Wilson has kept herself busy during the public health crisis by dedicating the entire year of 2020 to her health. The actress lost 60 pounds in just under a year and is continuing on to 2021 with more health, and dogs for Pooch Perfect. She kept her fans on social media up to date on all of her achievements throughout 2020, and now those fans will probably end up seeing more health goals with some dogs added into the mix. The show was a hit in Australia, and it will likely be a big success in the United States too. Just about everybody likes dogs, and everybody could use some good news for 2021, so Wilson should have a hit on her hands for ABC.

Pooch Perfect is produced by Beyond Media Rights Limited. Elan Gale, Sonya Wilkes and Rebel Wilson serve as executive producers. Nicole Anthony, Mike Rosen, Carley Simpson and Matthew Silverberg serve as co-executive producers. A premiere date has yet to be announced, but one can assume that the news will be coming shortly. For now, you can check out a video from Rebel Wilson's official Instagram account promoting the upcoming series.
