Following weeks of negotiations, Sony has finally set Sharlto Copley as the series lead Christian Walker in their Playstation Network series Powers, with Michelle Forbes also signing on to play Retro Girl.

The news follows last week's casting of Eddie Izzard as the villainous Wolfe, Noah Taylor as criminal mastermind Johnny Royale and Olesya Rulin as Calista.

The plot, based on Brian Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's graphic novel, follows Detectives Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward), who are assigned to the Powers police division that investigates crimes committed by those with extraordinary abilities. Walker was once a "Power" himself, although he lost his abilities in a battle with a super-human serial killer.

Michelle Forbes' Retro Girl is said to be the superstar of the Powers world, described as, "an icon of justice, selflessness, and business acumen." When Powers was set up as an FX pilot, Jason Patric and Carly Foulkes played Christian Walker and Retro Girl.

Sony's Playstation Network issued a straight-to-series order for 10 episodes of Powers, with Charlie Huston writing the first two episodes, which will be directed by David Slade. The series is slated to premiere in December.

Sharlto Copley most recently starred on the big screen in Maleficent, and he will next be seen in Chappie. Michelle Forbes is best known for her roles in The Killing and True Blood, and she also has a recent arc on the hit series Orphan Black.
