DC fans are suspicious of Pennyworth, especially since Epix started dropping the official cast list over the past couple of weeks. Many believe the show is coming too soon in the wake of Fox's Gotham, which is wrapping up its run this fall. Today, we have yet another casting announcement for Pennyworth, which is going to really have to knock it out of the park to get audiences onboard. The DC drama has finally found its villain.

Aloma Faith joins Pennyworth, which is coming to Epix from Warner Horizon Scripted Television, based on characters from DC including Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's trusted and very iconic butler, who has a few tricks up his sleeve that some fans will never see coming.

Pennyworth is a new drama from executive producers Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon. Tomorrow is a big day for the show, as it begins Production Monday, October 22, 2018, at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, in the UK. This is where some of the previous DC movies have shot, along with all of the Harry Potter movies.

In Pennyworth, Paloma Faith will appear in the series regular role of Bet Sykes, a spirited, sadistic and sharp-tongued villain. Faith is a multi-award-winning recording artist whose onscreen credits include Peter & Wendy and Doctor Parnassus. Pennyworth is from Warner Horizon Scripted Television and based on the characters from DC. The 10-episode, one-hour drama series is based on DC characters created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger.

It follows Bruce Wayne's legendary butler, Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier in his 20s, who forms a security company and goes to work with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), who's not yet Bruce's father, in 1960s London. Jack Bannon will star in the title role of Pennyworth. Alfred Pennyworth is a boyishly handsome, cheerful, charming, clever young man from London. Honest, open-faced and witty; you'd never take him for an SAS killer. Alfred doesn't know how to reconcile the kind-hearted boy he used to be with the cold, calculated killer he was forced to become. He's a man on the make, who doesn't know what to make of himself yet. Bannon previously appeared in The Imitation Game and Ripper Street.

Ryan Fletcher and Hainsley Lloyd Bennett are set to star as series regulars in Pennyworth. Fletcher and Bennett will portray "Dave Boy" and "Bazza," respectively; both are lifelong friends of Alfred's from their army days serving in the same corps. Dave Boy, a haggard Highland Scotsman who is slowly drinking himself to death since leaving the army, is a close ally of Alfred and Bazza and also the most unpredictable of the trio. Bazza, a posh Bajan playboy, is highly proficient at logistics and a valued member of Alfred's team. This latest casting announcement comes from Epix.
