The NBC comedy series Parks and Recreation will be shaking things up a bit in Season 5, with Leslie Knoppe (Amy Poehler) and her beau Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) trying out a long distance relationship, due to his new job in Washington D.C. Today, we have word that Ben's parents will be popping up this season, with Breaking Bad's Jonathan Banks set to play the father and Glenne Headly portraying the mother.

They will both appear in the sixth episode this season, where Leslie gets to meet her boyfriend's parents, Steve and Julia, for the first time. Tensions rise, though, when Steve shows up with a much younger girlfriend. Here's what showrunner Michael Schur had to say about bringing Jonathan Banks on board, after his memorable run portraying Mike Ehrmentraut on Breaking Bad.

"We were working the character description of Ben's dad, and I said aloud, 'He should act like Mike Ehrmentraut.' So somebody said, 'Well, why can't we just get Jonathan Banks?'"

Parks and Recreation kicks off Season 5 with "Ms. Knoppe Goes to Washington Thursday, September 20 at 9:30 PM ET on NBC.
