It's a sad time for Playboy Magazine fans, as Hugh M. Hefner's lifework takes a decidedly different direction. As you may have heard, the monthly editorial is getting rid of it's nude pictorial layouts. But Playboy isn't going out quietly. Instead, it's going out with a somewhat shocking bang as iconic centerfold Pamela Anderson has been confirmed to grace the cover of Playboy's final nude issue.

Pamela Anderson, who is 48-years-old, of course got the blessing from her kids in moving forward with such a decision. This will be the final time she bares all for Hugh M. Hefner and his iconic enterprise. Playboy will go non-nude starting with its March 2016 issue. So the January/February double issue set to hit newsstands next Friday, December 11, will be your final chance to get your eyes on Playboy's trademark nudes.

The cover is a record breaking deal for Playboy, as it's the 14th time a single individual has appeared on the front of the magazine. Not only is Pamela Anderson appearing on the cover, she is also participating in what will be her 15th pictorial. And it will come towards the end of the issue, set as the final photo spread to ever feature nudity within the pages of this long-standing institution. Playboy has offered up a look at a few of the outtakes from the shoot, which you can see a few of below. To check out the rest, you can visit here.

In the magazine, you will also find an exclusive interview with Pamela Anderson that was conducted by occasional Playboy contributor James Franco. Together, they discuss what it is like working for the publication, and how it has made her career. You can read the full conversation here. This is an excerpt from the interview about the new photo layout.

"The photographer shot me in one roll of film because I was nervous and throwing up. But then I saw the pictures, and from there it was hard to keep my clothes on! I was painfully shy before, but then it clicked in my head that nobody cares what you look like naked except you. People are more concerned about themselves and their own flaws."

Playboy also has a behind-the-scenes video from Pamela Anderson's photo shoot, which took place at Hugh M. Hefner's iconic Playboy Mansion, and was conducted by famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth. You can see the full, uncensored shoot by picking up a copy of the January/February double issue when it hits newsstands next Friday, on December 11. Then keep your eye out for the first non-nude issue this March.
