As a part of Starz's TCA Winter Tour panel, the network debuted a new trailer for the second half of Outlander's first season, which returns Saturday, April 4. Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie (Sam Heughan), a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

During the TCA panel, it was revealed that the second half of the season doesn't pick up directly after the midseason finale cliffhanger. The last eight episodes are primarily told through Jamie's point of view, with Sam Heughan joking that, for he and his co-star Caitriona Balfe), the process of playing Jamie and Claire has "aged us terribly." Here's what Sam Heughan had to say about what fans can expect from Jamie in the second half of Season 1.

"Jamie has to deal with the relationships he has with his late father and his sister. We see his pride, his stubborn side. He's a less idealistic man."

Caitriona Balfe added that playing Claire has helped the actress realize her own inner strength.

"Getting through this series is an amazing undertaking, putting so much time in the show. Everyday, I show up to play this strong, resilient character. It showed me just how much strength and resilience I have. Clarie brought out my inner strength."

Starz has already renewed the series for Outlander Season 2, which will consist of 13 episodes and will follow the second book in Diana Gabaldon's eight-novel series. Check out the new trailer below, and stay tuned for more footage from the second half of Outlander, returning Saturday, April 4.
