After receiving rave reviews for hosting the Tony Awards in 2009 and 2013, Neil Patrick Harris confirmed today that he is hosting the 87th Annual Academy Awards today, with a video he posted to his Twitter account.

This will be Neil Patrick Harris's first time hosting The Academy Awards, although he has appeared on the show as a performer, singing the opening number at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards in 2010.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are producing the telecast, which will air live Sunday, February 22 on ABC from the Dolby Theater at the Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood, California. The broadcast will be seen in more than 225 countries. The 87th Annual Academy Awards nominations will be announced Thursday, January 15.

Neil Patrick Harris currently stars in the critically-acclaimed drama Gone Girl, and he lends his voice to next year's Pixar adventure The Good Dinosaur.
