When NBC cancelled their drama series Do No Harm last week after just two episodes, many speculated that the network would use its Thursday 10 PM time slot for the upcoming series Hannibal. As it turns out, the speculation was correct, as confirmed by series creator Bryan Fuller earlier today. The series, starring Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter and Hugh Dancy as FBI agent Will Graham, will debut Thursday, April 4 at 10 PM ET. Bryan Fuller also posted a new photo of Mads Mikkelsen along with the "dinner invitation" he sent out on Twitter.

Hannibal, based on the Thomas Harris novels, will explore the early years of Hannibal's relationship with Will Graham, as the good doctor helps Will out with a brutal serial killer case. This is years before Lecter's cannibalistic tendencies were discovered. Laurence Fishburne, Eddie Izzard, and Gillian Anderson also star. Now that a premiere date has been determined, hopefully the network will start rolling out new footage from this upcoming series.
