Hot on the heels of Sunday night's Season 4 premiere of the hit series Falling Skies, TNT has released a new trailer providing a look at what viewers can expect from the epic drama this summer. Falling Skies, which stars Noah Wyle and is executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, launched its fourth season Sunday with a total of 4.7 million viewers for its premiere telecast and initial encore. With 3.7 million viewers for its 10 p.m. premiere, Falling Skies has joined TNT's Rizzoli & Isles, The Last Ship, Major Crimes and Murder in the First in giving the network five of cable's Top 6 scripted season premieres for the year-to-date in Live + Same Day delivery.

The nightmare is just beginning for the humans battling an occupying alien force in the fourth season of TNT's hit series Falling Skies. Noah Wyle stars in the epic drama, which is produced by Amblin Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg. Also starring are Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Colin Cunningham, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Sarah Carter, Seychelle Gabriel, Mpho Koaho and Doug Jones. Scarlett Byrne (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) joins the cast as a regular this season, while Oscar winner Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite, Mimic) and Treva Etienne (Terminator Salvation, Pirates of the Caribbean) are slated to guest-star along with the returning Robert Sean Leonard (House, Dead Poets Society).

In Falling Skies, Wyle stars as Tom Mason, a college professor who became an unlikely resistance leader following a massive invasion by an alien race known as the Espheni. Bloodgood is Dr. Ann Glass, a pediatrician who became the survivors' primary physician and recently gave birth to a daughter who, it turns out, is not entirely human. Patton is Colonel Weaver, the gruff and emotionally scarred commander of the 2nd Mass who has been leading the battle against the invaders.

Last season on Falling Skies, the human population in the new capital of Charleston reluctantly welcomed assistance from the Volm, a new race of aliens promising to supply the humans with a secret weapon that would win the war against the Espheni. After working together to destroy a major Espheni base, however, the Volm's real intentions regarding the Earth become murky. Meanwhile, Tom and Ann's rapidly growing daughter has begun to display remarkable abilities, raising fears about who or what she really is.

As Season 4 opens, the Mason family and the remaining 2nd Mass suddenly find themselves under brutal attack by a new Espheni war machine - and a new, deadly creation unlike anything previously encountered. Divided like chattel and spread to the winds, they must each forge new relationships in order to survive.

Since premiering as the #1 new series of 2011, Falling Skies has ranked as one of basic cable's Top 10 original dramas among key adult demos for each of the past three years. Executive-produced by Spielberg and Amblin Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank, along with David Eick and Greg Beeman, Season 4 of Falling Skies airs Sundays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), following TNT's all-new drama The Last Ship.
