NBC has issued a pilot order for the sci-fi crime series Tin Man from Ehren Kruger (Transformers: Age of Extinction).

The story is set in the near future, centering on a fugitive android who is accused of first-degree murder and may also hold the key to the next stage of human evolution. The plot also follows a young female public defender who is forced to take on the robot's case.

Ehren Kruger is writing the pilot script and executive producing alongside John Glenn, Daniel Bobker and Universal Television Studios. No production schedule was given.

Ehren Kruger is best known for his work on Paramount's Transformers franchise, writing the scripts for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction. His other writing credits include Arlington Road, The Ring and The Skeleton Key. He also wrote the script for Universal's Videodrome remake.
