NBC has ordered 13 episodes of a new single camera comedy from multiple Emmy Award winners Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. Ellie Kemper is set to star.

Produced by Universal Television and Little Stranger, Inc., and set to debut in fall 2014, the series will center on a woman (Kemper) who escapes from a doomsday cult and starts life over in New York City.

Here's what Tina Fey and Robert Carlock had to say in a joint statement.

"We have been lucky enough to work at NBC for our entire careers (except when Robert worked at 'The Dana Carvey Show, now available on DVD) and we thank Bob and Jen for their continued support."

NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt also issued his own statement.

"Tina and Robert, who cemented their partnership on 30 Rock, have created a new signature comedy for us that is audacious, emotional, and clever. While tapping into very relatable themes, there isn't anything like this anywhere else on television. NBC has been their home for many years and we're so happy that they've found another way to push the comedy envelope for us."

Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment added the following statement.

"Original voices like Tina and Robert don't come along very often and we wanted them back on the air as soon as possible. And to have them working with Ellie Kemper - who we watched grow up on The Office from supporting player to leading actress - puts the whole package together. We feel fortunate to be in business with this entire creative team on something so funny, unique, and attention-getting."

Fey and Carlock, who will serve as writers for the series, will executive produce with David Miner.

Fey, who created and executive produced the critically beloved NBC comedy 30 Rock, recently won an Emmy, along with Tracey Wigfield, for co-writing the series finale episode, "Last Lunch". As an actress, writer and executive producer on both 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live, Fey has won eight Emmys.

Carlock, who executive produced 30 Rock for all seven seasons, has won three Emmys. He was also a writer on iconic TV series Saturday Night Live and Friends.

Kemper is also an NBC alum, having co-starred in the Emmy-winning comedy The Office. She has been nominated for four Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role in the series, and was also nominated for a SAG Award as a co-star in the feature-film hit Bridesmaids.
