NBC has officially declined a full-series order for Mockingbird Lane, their modernized reboot of the classic sitcom The Munsters. The series, which followed a family of monsters forced to move into a new neighborhood, was being shepherded by Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller.
Bryan Fuller broke the news via his personal Twitter earlier today.
I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support.— Bryan Fuller (@BryanFuller) December 27, 2012
Starring Eddie Izzard, Portia de Rossi, and Jerry O'Connell, the series Pilot aired over Halloween weekend this past year, pulling in 5.4 million viewers, the highest rating the network has garnered in the Friday at 8 pm time slot in over two years. The Pilot was also well received by critics and fans alike.
It is not clear at this time why NBC chose not to move forward with the series.
