Back in May, ABC announced that The Muppets will air this fall in the Tuesday 8 PM time slot, debuting September 22. We have already seen the first trailer for this upcoming series, but today, the network has decided to air the full 10-minute pilot pitch video, which convinced executives to move forward with the series. The video's intro, which features a "crawl" similar to the Star Wars franchise, reveals that the "general public" was not meant to see this footage. The network eventually caved, after fans demanded to see it during the show's Comic-Con panel, with ABC asking that fans "stop yelling at us" now that the footage is available to the public.

The Muppets TV series didn't go through the traditional development cycle, with the show first announced in early April, just one month before a series order was handed out. Instead of crafting a traditional, 22-minute pilot, the producers put together the 10 minute video you can check out below in its entirety. The sitcom has been described as a "contemporary, documentary-style show," and with the Muppets poking fun at the genre a few times in the video. The series will explore the Muppets' personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, breakups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires.

In typical Muppets fashion, this pitch video includes a few celebrity cameos, such as Elizabeth Banks and Topher Grace, and you can bet there will be many more to come. Series creators Bill Prady and Bob Kushell wrote the video, with Randall Einhorn directing. The video features plenty of footage that we already saw in the trailer, showing how ABC wanted to bring the whole gang together for this series, and how it was almost derailed because a certain pig didn't want to do the show.

Bill Prady, Bob Kushell and Randall Einhorn are executive producing alongside Bill Barretta, Debbie McClellan and Kyle Laughlin. Along with the celebrity cameos, the video also features Margo Harshman as Fozzie's girlfriend Becky, Jere Burns as Becky's father and Meagan Fay as Becky's mother. It isn't known if these actors will have regular roles in the series or not.

This 10-minute video arrives with three new photos featuring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie and more. These beloved characters are more popular than ever following The Muppets movie in 2011 movie and last year's Muppets Most Wanted sequel. Do you think The Muppets will be a bit hit when it debuts on ABC this fall? Or would you rather see a new movie instead? Check out the trailer and photos, and stay tuned for more on The Muppets.
