Pitch Perfect's Alexis Knapp has signed on to star in the new TV movie project The Dorm, which was given the green light by MTV.

The actress will play Vivian, an awkward college freshman, who is transformed into a seductive beauty by her roommates. Cassie Steele (Degrassi: The Next Generation, The L.A. Complex) co-stars as Sarah, a funny and unpredictable student who turns Vivian into her project for the semester. Max Lloyd-Jones (Teen Wolf) co-stars in an unspecified role.

Rachel Talalay (Tank Girl) is directing from a script by Sean Hood (The Legend of Hercules, Halloween: Resurrection), with Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev and Maggie Malina executive producing. Production is scheduled to begin February 10 in Calgary.

Alexis Knapp most recently starred in Cavemen, So Undercover and Vamp U. It isn't known if she plans on reprising her role as Stacie in Pitch Perfect 2, which is being directed by Elizabeth Banks.
