When Seth MacFarlane throws a party, you have to expect that many of the talented artists who lend their voices to his numerous series would be in attendance. That was certainly the case at McFarlane's holiday bash, which also doubled as a lavish promotional tool for MacFarlane's upcoming Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side, which will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on December 22. One of those talented voices in attendance was Mike Henry, who provided the voice of Cleveland Brown on MacFarlane's Family Guy and now his very own series, The Cleveland Show the first-year animated hit in Fox's Sunday night Animation Domination block.

I got a chance to speak with Henry on the red carpet and one of the hot-button issues was the appearance of controversial singer Kanye West in the series. Henry had nothing but good things to say about the singer and how he took to this animated show.

"Yeah, Kanye's great," Henry said. "He's a fan of animation. The first time he came in, he was there for four hours. He came in for a table reading and wanted to meet everyone and see how the pictures were drawn and everything else. He's real cool."

Henry also talked about how much we'd be hearing from West - who voices an up and coming rapper in Cleveland's hometown of Stoolbend, Virginia - on the series this season, and next.

"Well, he's in one in the first season and another in the second season, and they're both big parts," Henry added. "They're the same role but he's featured in both of those. I would assume he would just be coming back until he really upsets everyone. No, I'm kidding. He's great. He's just a cool guy with us."

He also said that they were in production of Episode 36 right now, into the show's second season which will air next year. even though they've only aired eight episodes so far. He also revealed that he has a musical side as well, as he talked about a single he did - in character as Cleveland Brown - with Earth, Wind and Fire.

"It's on iTunes now and probably some other places next week," Henry said. "It's called Get Your Hump On This Christmas. I wrote it with some of our writers and the Earth, Wind and Fire guys did the music. It's awesome."

When I asked if Kanye West would become to The Cleveland Show what Al Gore was to Futurama, Henry seemed to agree.

"Sure. Yeah, we'll call him that."

The Cleveland Show airs Sunday nights at 8:30 PM ET on Fox and you can hear Henry voice several characters in Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side, when it hits the shelves on DVD and Blu-ray on December 22.
