Michael Ealy has joined the cast of J.J. Abrams and J.H. Wyman's untitled sci-fi crime drama as an android police officer. We reported last month that Fox issued a pilot order for this futuristic series.

The story is set within the Los Angeles Police Department, where all cops are paired with robotic partners that have human characteristics. Michael Ealy is portarying Dorian, an android who possesses far greater understanding of humanity than his partner, a role that has not yet been cast.

Fringe showrunner J.H. Wyman wrote the pilot script and will executive produce alongside Bad Robot's J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk. Brad Anderson, who directed several episodes of Fringe, is attached to direct the first episode.

Michael Ealy was last seen on the small screen in the short-lived USA Network series Common Law. He has also had arcs on The Good Wife, Californication, and FlashForward.
