Barry Sonnenfeld, director of all three Men In Black movies, is confirmed to direct and executive produce the Beverly Hills Cop pilot for CBS Television.

This hour-long comedic drama will be a continuation of the feature film franchise starring Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley. Murphy is producing alongside The Shield's Shawn Ryan.

This new series will follow the adventure of Aaron Foley, Axel's son, as he works in taking down the criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills while trying to emerge from his dad's long-looming shadow. Brandon T. Jackson has been cast as Aaron, with Eddie Murphy reprising the role of Axel for the pilot. Murphy will continue to appear throughout multiple episodes if the show is picked up to series.

David Denham and Kevin Pollak are also set to appear in the pilot. Beverly Hills Cop is being prepped for a fall launch on CBS.
