The first Mayans MC teaser is here. FX has been working on the Sons of Anarchy spin-off for some time now and, after suffering a few major setbacks and bumps in the road, the series is finally makings its way to air this fall, and we have the teaser to prove it. This video may not offer much in the way of actual footage, but it should no doubt be exciting for those who have been looking to fill the hole in their TV viewing that Sons of Anarchy left behind.

This first teaser is quite brief. The footage focuses on the biker gang rolling down a highway with a whole bunch of roses on either side. FX clearly doesn't want to give away too much in regards to Mayans MC just yet, but they are ready to start getting people excited about the prospect of this series, which is set to arrive this fall. FX has yet to announce an exact premiere date for the show just yet, but it will be part of their 2018 programming lineup. So at worst, we're a handful of months away from the first episode.

Mayans MC comes from the mind of Kurt Sutter, who created Sons of Anarchy, and Elgin James. This series takes place in the same universe as Sons of Anarchy, but is set in a post Jax Teller world. EZ Reyes (JD Pardo) is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border. EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy with the American Dream in his grasp.

FX originally ordered the pilot for Mayans MC in December of 2016. Unfortunately, that first pilot shoot didn't go over as well as everyone had hoped. FX then decided to re-shoot the pilot, recasting several of the key roles in the process. That included trading Sons of Anarchy star Emilio Rivera for JD Pardo. They also brought in Michael Irby as a new series lead, who will play Obispo "Bishop" Losa, president of Mayans' Santo Padre charter. The decision to do so apparently worked out well enough, as FX picked up Mayans MC to series in January. The first season of the spin-off will consist of 10 episodes. So at the very least, Sons of Anarchy fans will have a full season to enjoy.

Sons of Anarchy was FX's highest-rated drama during the course of its seven-season run. The series went off the air in 2014 and ran for a total of 92 episodes. Mayans MC were a regular and important part of the show during its run, making it a logical place for Kurt Sutter to turn his attention for the spin-off. The cast for Mayans MC includes Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta.
