Kurt Sutter's new series Mayans MC released a teaser trailer that features the grave of Jax Teller. It's a fitting way to start off the new series which will debut in September. Sutter and the new cast of the spin-off took over Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend and revealed some information about the series, a Mayans MC Comic-Con trailer, and what fans of Sons of Anarchy can expect to see. It's evident right away from the teaser trailer and the full-length trailer that Sutter is taking the new show even further than the last one.

Mayans M.C. takes place in the present day, so Jax Teller is dead. The teaser trailer released over the weekend shows the new gang paying their respects to the former SAMCRO president who killed himself in the series finale of Sons of Anarchy. Series creator Kurt Sutter revealed that there will be more tie-ins to the original show, but don't expect Jax to rise from the dead. Sutter is very protective of the legacy of Sons and wants fans to fill in their own blanks about what happened after the finale.

Though Mayans M.C. won't have a lot to do with Sons of Anarchy, it will have intersections, according to Kurt Sutter. The new series will have a bunch of Easter Eggs from Sons because the world that it created is so big. Those Easter Eggs will be easy to spot and some will take even the most hardcore fans of Sons a minute or two to recognize. Sutter had this to say.

"Sons was a big world and there was a lot of peripheral energy and players and members and other charters, so there will be those kind of intersections. We'll see those points of intersection happen throughout this season, and the series as well."

There are familiar faces from Sons of Anarchy in Mayans M.C., like leader Emilio Rivera, and there is Edward James Olmos. But most of the cast is comprised of newcomers. In addition to Rivera and Olmos, the show also stars JD Pardo, Clayton Cardenas, Sarah Bolger, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta. Mayans M.C. was a big deal at Comic-Con over the weekend and fans are excited to see what the new show will add to the Sons mythology.

Mayans M.C. will premiere September 4th on the FX network and it will consist of 10 episodes. As for colorful language, Kurt Sutter says that the network is cool with a few F-bombs here and there, so expect the writer/director to pepper in some of his favorite words into the new series. Sutter admits to going through and counting all of the f*cks after writing a script and says that he always has to go back and take a bunch out, but Mayans M.C. will definitely have some.
