FX's Mayans M.C. is preparing for season 2 with a behind-the-scenes featurette. The successful Sons of Anarchy spin-off was given the green light for a second season in October of last year and fans have been waiting to see what's going to happen. Thankfully, the wait is nearly over. FX will premiere season 2 on September 3rd and the latest behind-the-scenes video gives fans a nice tease of what they'll be witnessing in just a few weeks from now.

The Mayans M.C. behind-the-scenes featurette showcases the gang's new place in Santo Padre and "the incoming obstacles that J.D. Pardo's EZ have to face." Things are about to ramp up in a major way. But what about the addition of more familiar faces from the original series? Series star Emilio Rivera, who also starred in Sons of Anarchy, is hoping to see Charlie Hunnam's Jax Teller come back in some form or another. He explains.

"That would be really cool to work with Charlie again. That'd be great. I love Charlie, man. I don't see why that couldn't happen. Because they're doing flashbacks already; I mean, they have had them. On Sons, we never had a flashback. I don't think Kurt liked the flashbacks, but now we're putting them in."

While fans would love to see Jax Teller back for Mayans M.C., it more than likely won't be happening this season. However, there is potential for a third season and some more actors from Sons of Anarchy jumping on board. As for a lot of the past characters from the original show, it would have to be told through the use of flashback, which is okay with Emilio Rivera. He had this to say.

"Me, I like flashbacks, you dig what I'm saying? That kind of brings that universe back to ours, and it's kind of cool. And rightfully so, because they're part of our world. We're part of theirs, and they could be part of ours."

Charlie Hunnam has not spoken about coming back for Mayans M.C., though he probably would under the right circumstances. If he does return, they would have to bring back Katey Sagal for another cameo as Gemma Teller, which would probably be pretty easy to pull off. In the end, we'll just have to wait and see, but Mayans M.C. season 2 is already shaping up to be pretty awesome without the former cast members from Sons of Anarchy, though hardcore fans will more than likely welcome back any familiar faces of the cult-favorite FX hit.

Mayans M.C. stars Edward James Olmos, JD Pardo, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo, and Carla Baratta. Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter serves as an executive producer this time around. You can check out the behind-the-scenes featurette below, thanks to the FX Networks YouTube channel.
