Marvel's...What If? is teasing Zombie Captain America and T'Challa as Star-Lord in new leaked images. It's been an exciting few months for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. In July, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige dominated San Diego Comic-Con with an avalanche of announcements and then did the exact same thing at the D23 Expo last month. Out of all the titles revealed, Marvel's What If...? is one of the most intriguing and lucky fans in San Diego and Anaheim were treated to some very early footage from the upcoming series.
Luckily, some still images from Marvel's What If...? have found their way online. It was previously rumored that a Marvel Zombies episode was in the works after looking at the official logo for the series, and now it looks like it's true as Captain America can clearly be seen as a zombie in one of the leaked images. Another features T'Challa as a version of Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy. We were previously teased with the first official look at Peggy Carter in a British Captain America-type of suit.
The first episode of Marvel's What If...? will center on what would have happened if Peggy Carter had taken the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers. The series will consist of ten episodes of an alternate MCU reality all told through the eyes of the Watcher, aka Uatu, who is voiced by Jeffrey Wright. Kevin Feige originally wanted to tell 25 stories, but they whittled it down to 10 after the original idea was deemed to be unrealistic. It's unclear if there will be a second season at this time.
The voice cast for Marvel's What If...? includes Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. Michael Douglas is back as Hank Pym, Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan, Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Taika Waititi as Korg, Toby Jones as Arnim Zola, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and Michael Rooker as Yondu. That's a pretty impressive cast right there.
Marvel's What If...? premieres summer of 2021, exclusively on the Disney+ streaming platform. The subscription service launches in November with the highly anticipated live-action Star Wars series The Mandalorian and will feature the MCU content in the next year, going on through 2021. From there, Kevin Feige will more than likely reassess and discuss further shows on the streaming platform, depending on how well the first batch is received.
