During the first ever FreeForm Summit today, the cable network unveiled a new sneak peek at Marvel's Cloak and Dagger, while also revealing that the show will debut with a two-hour premiere on March 7. The Cloak and Dagger panel was moderated by Alicia Lutes, Managing Editor, @Nerdist and Host, #Fangirling, with panel participants including executive producers Jeph Loeb and Joe Pokaski, director Gina Prince-Bythewood and stars Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph. Here's a description of the panel below.

"It used to be that you would read a comic book and transport yourself to a place that you fantasized being a part of. Today's television viewing has created long-lasting opportunities for those fantasies to become real, with fan-favorite comic book properties that we grew up with becoming mainstream, appointment entertainment. Stories that we know and love are now brought to our many screens, but how do you ensure that the monumental characters are accurately portrayed? How do you take those characters that were created over 20 years ago and translate their intimate journeys for today's viewer, when those characters were created in a different social landscape? And are those journeys necessarily so different now than they were then? Join the producing team behind Marvel's Cloak & Dagger and series stars for a discussion about creating "Cloak" aka "Tandy Bowen" and "Dagger" aka "Tyrone Johnson," a pair of young adults navigating a world of complexity, separating from parents, creating relationships and forming their own identities. While many of these challenges sound familiar, our young heroes have newly discovered superpowers that only make their journeys more complicated."

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger is a coming-of-age series based on the beloved comic characters and is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios. Marvel's Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, Emma Lahana, Jaime Zevallos, and J.D. Evermore. The series will premiere on Thursday, June 7 (8:00 - 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT) and is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios. Joe Pokaski (Underground, Heroes) serves as showrunner and executive producer; Jeph Loeb (Marvel's The Punisher, Marvel's The Defenders), Marvel's head of Television, and Jim Chory (Marvel's The Punisher, Marvel's The Defenders) also serve as executive producers. Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball) directed the first episode.

FreeForm first issued a straight to series order for Marvel's Cloak and Dagger back in April 2016, bypassing the pilot phase completely, but the show was slightly delayed, since the show was being eyed for a 2017 debut and it was ultimately pushed into 2018. Now that the premiere date has been revealed, we'll likely be seeing much more footage from this highly-anticipated series. Until then, you can take a look at this new sneak peek below, courtesy of Marvel's Cloak and Dagger YouTube.
