Actress Maria Bello has signed on for a multi-episode arc on the new Fox drama series Touch, which aired Episode 1.02: 1+1=3 last night.

The actress will play an "earth mother," whose daughter shared a gift similar to Jake (David Mazouz), the son of Kiefer Sutherland's Martin Bohm. It isn't known how many episodes Maria Bello will appear in this season, although it is said that she has an option to become a series regular, if Touch is renewed for a second season. Maria Bello last starred on the short-lived NBC police procedural Prime Suspect.

Touch comes from Heroes creator Tim Kring, and centers on Martin Bohm, who learns his mute son Jake has the ability to make connections no one else can see. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Danny Glover, Titus Welliver, and Karen Shenaz David also star in Touch.

Touch airs Thursday nights at 9 PM ET on Fox.
