Are Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser still mad about each other? We'll all find out this winter! Mad About You is soon coming back to the small screen for Spectrum Originals, as an all-new teaser for the rebooted series has revealed the official premiere date. According to the video, the limited series will be split into two halves. Paul and Jamie Buchman will return to television when the first six episodes debut on Nov. 20, with the remaining half of the series airing on Dec. 19. As of now, the plan is for the revival to only span 12 episodes, but its potential success could always influence an order for more installments.

Produced by Sony Pictures TV in association with Comedy Dynamics, the new Mad About You will be set 20 years after the events of the original series, which concluded in 1999. The reboot sees both Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt reprising their roles as the Buchmans, picking up the story after the married couple drops off their daughter Mabel (Abby Quinn) at college. The first episode will be directed by Hunt with series co-creator Danny Jacobson on board as an executive consultant. For the series, Peter Tolan is serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Also exec producing are Hunt, Reiser, and Comedy Dynamics' Brian Volk-Weiss, Michael Pelmont, and Matthew Ochacher.

Mad About You first aired on NBC all the way back in 1992. Created by Reiser and Jacobson, the series follows the life of a young married couple living in New York City and is one of the most memorable sitcoms of the era. Some of the most notable recurring guest stars to appear include Hank Azaria, Mel Brooks, Carol Burnett, Lisa Kudrow, Cyndi Lauper, and Lyle Lovett. Throughout its run, the series consistently drew very strong ratings, lasting for seven seasons and 164 episodes. It's also won a Golden Globe Award, a Peabody Award, a Genesis Award, and has been nominated five times at the Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series. Hunt also won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress for four years in a row.

Certainly, it's easy to see why a Mad About You comeback is happening. Similar TV series revivals have been seeing success on other networks and streaming services, and given the past popularity of Mad About You, chances are a reboot would also bring in viewers. If a Full House revival can last for five season on Netflix after previously being thought impossible, then it seems to be a safe investment to revisit the Buchman family for a limited run of new Mad About You episodes. Of course, as a Spectrum Original, availability may turn out to be the show's biggest problem.

Mad About You will return on Nov. 20, with second batch of new episodes following on Dec. 19. The Mad About You revival teaser doesn't reveal much, only showing some images of Hunt and Reiser together. It also reminds fans they can binge past episodes of the show on Spectrum Originals while they wait until the limited series premiere.
