It's been a big week for Luke Cage, with series star Mike Colter confirming that the series will debut on September 30. Just a few days later, the first trailer debuted on Netflix, hidden on the streaming service behind the final episode of Daredevil Season 2. Over the weekend, filmmaker Paul McGuigan (Victor Frankenstein) teased on his Twitter page that he directed the first two episodes of this highly-anticipated series. While he's best known as a filmmaker, Paul McGuigan has also made his mark on the small screen as well.

The filmmaker has directed a number of pilot episodes throughout his career, including FX's miniseries Thief, Lifetime's Devious Maids, ABC's Lucky 7 and ABC's new series The Family, which debuted earlier this month. He has also directed four episodes of Sherlock, plus episodes of Smash and Scandal. On the big screen, he most recently directed Victor Frankenstein, along with other films such as Push, Lucky Number Slevin, Wicker Park and The Reckoning.

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city--forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury. Luke Cage is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix. A week ago today, Mike Colter revealed that Luke Cage will debut on Netflix September 30, during a red carpet interview at the Season 2 premiere of Daredevil.

The supporting cast also includes Rosario Dawson, reprising her role as Claire Temple, a.k.a. Night Nurse, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Theo Rossi as Sonny, Alfre Woodard as Black Mariah, Simone Missick as Misty Knight and Sonia Braga as Claire Temple's mother. There will also be a number of surprise guest stars that have not been revealed at this time. It isn't known who will join Luke Cage from Daredevil and Jessica Jones, or if it will help set up Iron Fist.

After Luke Cage debuts this fall, the last Marvel/Netflix show to debut will be Iron Fist, which has recently cast Finn Jones as Danny Rand. While we still don't know when that series will arrive, it will lead into The Defenders, which will unite Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. While we wait for new details on Luke Cage, take a look at Paul McGuigan's tweet below.
