J.J. Abrams and the rest of the producers of Lost have come forward with a joint statement to apologize to actress Evangeline Lilly over her treatment on the series. Lilly revealed earlier in the week that she felt "cornered" by the producers to perform nude scenes in the show. Lost ran from 2004 to 2010 on ABC, and the 38-year old actress admits that she did not have the best time on the production of the hit series.

Lost creators and executive producers J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Jack Bender, and Carlton Cuse issued the joint statement this weekend and admit that they have not been able to speak directly with Evangeline Lilly about the incidents. However, they state that they are "deeply and sincerely sorry," about what happened to her on the set of the show. They ended the statement by noting that everybody should be able to feel safe and comfortable in the workplace. The Statement reads.

"Our response to Evie's comments in the media was to immediately reach out to her to profoundly apologize for the experience she detailed while working on Lost. We have not yet connected with her, but remain deeply and sincerely sorry. No person should ever feel unsafe at work. Period."

In a recent interview, Evangeline Lilly, who is currently starring in Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp, detailed a few incidents on the set of Lost that left her "mortified" and "trembling." One of which happened in the third season where the actress states that she felt "cornered" into performing a scene where she was partially naked. Lilly says that she felt like she had no choice in the matter. She explains.

"In season 3, I'd had a bad experience on set with being basically cornered into doing a scene partially naked, and I felt had no choice in the matter. And I was mortified and I was trembling and when it finished, I was crying my eyes out and I had to go on do a very formidable, very strong scene thereafter."

Evangeline Lilly went on to detail another incident that happened in Season 4 of Lost where another scene came up where she had to be partially nude. Lilly says that she tried to fight it, but felt forced yet again. But, that was the last time, as the actress put her foot down and never had to perform a nude scene on the show again. Lilly says.

"In season 4, another scene came up where Kate was undressing and I fought very hard to have that scene be under my control and I failed to control it again. And so I then said, That's it, no more. You can write whatever you want-I won't do it. I will never take my clothes off on this show again, and I didn't."

Though Lost was an incredibly successful show, it was not that great of a time for Evangeline Lilly. In addition to the forced nude scenes, the actress was also seriously hurt while performing a stunt on the set. She believes that the stunt coordinator of the show let the accident happen, which severely sliced open her arms, because he was "misogynistic," and wanted a stunt performer to do said stunt.
