Corey Feldman is ready for the Frog Brothers to return. The CW The Lost Boys series is going through some major changes behind-the-scenes due to the network's alleged dissatisfaction with the original pilot. The iconic Frog Brothers were at one time going to be changed to sisters with Cheyenne Haynes and Haley Tju taking over the roles originally played by Feldman and Jamison Newlander in the 1987 horror classic. Now, Feldman is looking for he and Newlander to make a comeback for the retooled version of the TV series as the two actresses have been dropped from the project entirely.
In the upcoming version of The CW's Lost Boys series, it looks like only Medalion Rahimi and Dakota Shapiro will be keeping their roles at this time. Shapiro is set to play the vampire David, while Rahimi will play the character Stella. After hearing the news, Corey Feldman hit social media and said, "HMMMMM... Jamison Newlander R U thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?," hinting at a reunion. Feldman and Newlander would be an epic twist for the new series, which would bring a lot more attention at the same time.
It isn't clear if the network is going to move forward with the Frog Sisters idea or if they will be going back to the Lost Boys roots. With that being said, Corey Feldman is definitely interested in making a return and Jamison Newlander would probably love to come back too. The new series is looking to take things in a younger direction, but that doesn't mean Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander can't participate in other ways. Maybe they can come on to pass the torch to the new set of Frog Brothers or Sisters?
There are going to be some pretty big changes to the source material in The CW's Lost Boys series, but the basic premise remains the same from the movie. Michael and Sam Emerson move to the city of Santa Carla with their mother Lucy and find out their new town has a pretty interesting vampire gang hanging around. Catherine Hardwicke directed the original pilot from a script written by Heather Mitchell. It isn't clear if the same script will be used or if Hardwicke will remain on board when production begins on the new pilot.
As for when The Lost Boys pilot will begin shooting, it is believed everything will go down with the new cast before the end of the year. Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander should start lobbying for a part in the series with the fans standing behind them to get the studio's attention. After the first pilot when down in flames, there will be some pressure to deliver the goods the second time around and bringing back some original actors would more than likely end up with a homerun. For now, we'll just have to wait and see what the network decides to do. You can check out Corey Feldman's Twitter reaction to the new Lost Boys pilot below.
