The first official Lizzie McGuire set photos have arrived. Production is currently underway in New York City and it looks like the weather might have been against them today. Whatever the case may be, star Hilary Duff has a huge smile on her face while carrying a large, stuffed alpaca. As to why she's carrying the plush animal, that is a mystery for the time being, so we'll just have to wait and see when the reboots debuts on the Disney+ streaming service.

"Happy first LIZZIE day!!!!! NYC.....cue the rain," Hilary Duff captioned her post, which was different from the one Disney shared. The Disney+ account went with a pun involving the aforementioned unnamed alpaca. Duff's fiancé, Matthew Koma, left a rather NSFW comment on her personal post that may have a few original fans of the show more than a little uncomfortable. It looks like Duff is happy to be back in the role that made her a household name while continuing to tell the story of her character as she embarks on a new chapter of her life.

Last week, Hilary Duff shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the upcoming Lizzie McGuire series, which included Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine and Jake Thomas, who are all back to reprise their roles as Jo, Sam, and Matt McGuire. Fans of the original show were shocked to hear that it was coming back during the D23 Expo in August. Since then, we haven't gotten too many other details in regards to the show. Fans are still waiting to hear if any more familiar faces will be joining Duff, Carradine, Todd, and Thomas.

In the re-imagined version of the Disney+ series, Lizzie is a 30-year old millennial navigating life in New York City. Like the original show, the reboot will include an animated version of a young Lizzie who offers up funny, revealing commentary on what it's like to be the older version of Lizzie. So far, fans seem to be excited to see Hilary Duff back in the role that was huge for her career and the Disney Channel. The show was the network's biggest series of all time, so it will be interesting to see how it does now that her fans are all grown-up.

Disney+ launches on November 12th, which is just around the corner. However, the new Lizzie McGuire series does not have an official release date at this time. Since production is currently underway, the show could premiere as soon as next fall, if everything goes according to plan. At the moment, Disney seems determined to get as much original content as possible in order to compete with Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Apple, and more.
