After giving us a glimpse at Paul Rudd's upcoming comedy with a handful of photos last month, Netflix has finally released the official trailer for Living With Yourself. The comedy series consist of 8 episodes starring the Avengers: Endgame and This is 40 star in two different leading roles.

Miles, struggling with his life, undergoes a spa treatment that is supposed to make him a better person. Unfortunately, the treatment is very literal and it creates another person, another, better Miles. The new and improved version of himself replaces him, and he is forced to earn back his wife, played by Aisling Bea, his career and his identity. The "inventive existential comedy" will be told through multiple perspectives, asking, "do we really want to be better?"

The newly released trailer from Netflix opens with a down-trodden, sometimes apathetic, always frustrated Miles at work. After we watch him kill a fly, sit through meetings and argue with his wife, a voiceover introduced the Top Happy Spa which will, "rebuild your DNA better than ever, a better you, the best you can be." Miles leaps at the opportunity and wakes up thrilled. He drives home with his head out the window enjoying the breeze, he hugs his wife lovingly, and goes to sleep.

He's jolted awake by a sound and ends up fighting a naked version of himself in the darkness of the house. When his wife calls down to ask about the commotion, both Miles assure her that, "it's fine." It turns out that while the original Miles was enjoying his new outlook on life, the new and improved version of him was digging himself out of a grave and walking six hours to return to what he thought was his home.

As the rest of the trailer unfolds, we see the Rudds watching each other as they live the same life because after all there are two of them and only one life. As they switch off being Miles, husband and friend, jealousy seems to grow. One buys a gun, a fight escalates, and we're given a glimpse of blood and a philosophical discussion about whether you can really be sure that, "you are you."

This will be Rudd's first time heading a television series, and it marks his return to the streaming platform after his role in Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. It's a great time to put the comedy actor at the top of the casting sheet. He had a pivotal role in Marvel's Avengers: Endgame which dominated the box office to become the highest grossing movie of all time worldwide. Although a third installment for his Ant-Man hasn't been announced, Paul Rudd is expected to reprise the role in some capacity in the Disney+ animated series What If...?. He is also set to star in next year's Ghostbuster 2020.

Living With Yourself was created and written by Emmy Award winner Timothy Greenberg (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart). It is directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (The Battle of the Sexes, Little Miss Sunshine) with Executive producers Greeberg and Anthony Bregman and Jeff Stern of Likely Story, Tony Hernandez for Jax Media.
