Hulu has released the trailer for Letterkenny season 9. From the looks of things, the gang did not take their own advice by taking "about 20 percent off" for the new season. The footage teases big fights, how vulgar the word "taste" can be at times, and some new adventures for the rest of the characters on the cult classic comedy series. If anything, the cast and crew heaped on an extra 20 percent to keep fans even more entertained than the previous seasons. Letterkenny season 9 premieres December 26th, exclusively on Hulu.
Letterkenny season 9 kicks off post-fight with Dierks (Tyler Hynes), and the Hicks, Skids, and Hockey Players attend an American Buck and Doe. Katy (Michelle Mylett) takes her scorched earth dating strategy back to Letterkenny and Gail (Lisa Codrington) gets some action of her own. Meanwhile, The Hockey Players learn about Judaism and the whole town gets really into sleepover activities like movies, board games, and girl talk. Then, a competing restaurant opens in Letterkenny and Tanis (Tiio Horn) starts her own energy drink.
Key residents of Letterkenny are Wayne (Jared Keeso), Daryl (Nathan Dales), Wayne's free-spirited younger sister Katy (Michelle Mylett), and Wayne's buddy, Dan (K Trevor Wilson) - while Dylan Playfair and Andrew Herr are Hockey Players Jonesy and Reilly. Tyler Johnston and Evan Stern are Skids Stewart and Roald, Mark Forward is the temperamental Coach, and Tiio Horn is the badass leader of The Natives, Tanis. The cast has been praised by numerous publications over the years for creating a "Seinfeld-like" universe, which features reoccurring jokes spread out over all seasons.
In addition to starring in Letterkenny, Jared Keeso also created the Hulu comedy. The half-hour comedy revolves around the dustups Wayne and his pals get into with their small-town rivals. For the Hicks, Skids, and Hockey Players of Letterkenny, getting your butt kicked is a legitimate concern on a day-to-day basis, which the series proves nearly every episode. There is a lot of talk and a lot fighting going on in the world of Letterkenny.
Hulu wasn't always the home of the Canadian sitcom, though they knew they could not pass it up when they negotiated the rights to stream the first six seasons in 2019. "We know from the current success of our Original comedy series' that our subscribers are looking for hilarious, unique and engaging programming," said Hulu's Senior Vice President of Originals, Craig Erwich in 2019. "Letterkenny checks all of these boxes and then some. Since we first premiered season one..., the fan-following and conversation around the series has gained exciting momentum. We're proud to have the show join the Hulu family."
The world of Letterkenny isn't one that everybody is familiar with just yet. However, once people are introduced, the binge watching begins. Thankfully, we have a brand-new season to look forward to at the end of this month. Jared Keeso also serves an executive producer/creator/co-writer) with Mark Montefiore (Executive Producer), Jacob Tierney (Executive Producer/Director/Co-Writer). The series is produced by New Metric Media, in partnership with DHX Media and Playfun Games. You can check out the Letterkenny season 9 trailer above, thanks to the official Hulu YouTube channel.
