Earlier this year, Nickelodeon fans lost their minds when the network announced plans for Legends of The Hidden Temple: The Movie, based on the iconic 90s game show. Now, it has been announced that a key figure in the original series is returning! Yes, Kirk Fogg will be back, and plays a very substantial role in the story.

Legends of The Hidden Temple: The Movie will be an action-adventure inspired by the series of the same name. On the 90s show, Kirk Fogg served as the host and guide for the contestants. His new role in the movie will pay direct homage to his former duties.

Kirk Fogg joins a previously announced cast that also includes Isabela Moner, former X-Men star Daniel Cudmore, Jet Jurgensmeyer, Colin Critchley and Ioan Sebastian Tirlui. This all-new movie is set to hit Nickelodeon in fall 2016. Though, an official premiere date has not been announced. Says Kirk Fogg about the opportunity to return.

"When Nickelodeon asked me to be a part of the Legends of the Hidden Temple movie, I immediately went to the closet and pulled out my blue denim shirt, which has been protected by a powerful golden force field since 1995. Legends is truly a legend, and I'm honored to be a part of it again. I'm sure the Ancient Olmec had something to do with this; that rock head is pretty sneaky."

Kirk Fogg was first cast as the Legends of the Hidden Temple host in 1993. He went onto appear in 120 episodes of the award-winning series. Since he last appeared on the game show, he has gone on to appear in over 300 commercials. In 2006, he directed and produced his first feature film titled Distortion.

Legends of The Hidden Temple: The Movie follows three siblings who break away from a lackluster tour in a jungle, finding themselves immersed in a high-stakes adventure comprised of obstacles that they must complete in order to escape alive. The TV movie will feature elements from the original game show including: Olmec, a talking head who knows the secrets behind the temple; The Steps of Knowledge, the entrance to the temple and launching pad for the mission; and cameos from a green monkey, red jaguar, and silver snakes, among others.

Legends of The Hidden Temple: The Movie is executive produced by Scott McAboy and Jessica Rhoades, and produced by Amy Sydorick. The TV movie is directed by Joe Menendez ("From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series") and written by Jonny Umansky & Zach Hyatt, and Alex Reid. What do you think? Is this the most exciting news of the day, or what?
