Fin has joined Stabler and Benson in a new sneak peek photo of their upcoming reunion on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. On April 1, Chris Meloni will reprise the role of Elliot Stabler, making his return to the franchise a full decade after departing the series in 2011. Meloni and Mariska Hargitay have reunited in sneak peek images from the set, and the latest photo has Ice-T getting in on the fun. You can take a look at it below.

Meloni and Hargitay are both pointing at Ice-T in another photo posted to Meloni's Instagram account. Referring to Ice-T's recent Grammy Award win for "Bum-Rush," Meloni writes in the caption: "One of these folks is a newly minted Grammy winner. Working OT with OG's on L&O:SVU."

Meloni's return to Law & Order: SVU will be to set up his own spinoff series Law & Order: Organized Crime, which premieres immediately after. Consisting of 13 episodes, the premiere season will follow Meloni as Elliot Stabler returning to the force after suffering a devastating personal loss. After checking back in with his pals in his old unit, Stabler forms a new task force to pursue organized crime in the area.

"I was intrigued for a variety of personal reasons," Chris Meloni recently told Entertainment Weekly, explaining that what attracted him to revisiting the role of Elliot Stabler was giving the character proper closure. "If you have, at least from my perspective, a very well-known and beloved TV character who left abruptly and, I would argue, unceremoniously... there's a built-in recognizability, a thing that needs to be satiated with a sense of closure. Those are all very attractive things."

Confident that Organized Crime will be as big of a hit as SVU, series creator Dick Wolf added: "This could really work. Elliot Stabler is tough as nails, he has an infallible moral compass, and he is the cop we wish shows up if you ever need one."

Joining Meloni in the main cast of Organized Crime as Dylan McDermott, Tamara Taylor, Danielle Mone Truitt, and Ainsley Seiger. Jaylin Fletcher, Charlotte Sullivan, Nick Creegan, and Ben Chase are featured in supporting roles. We can also expect Ice-T and Hargitay to make special appearances as Olivia Benson and Odafin Tutuola on the spinoff as well, along with other characters from SVU. Meloni has also said that despite Stabler and Benson pursuing different paths on their own shows, the two will stay connected with ongoing storylines.

"Benson and Stabler are inextricably linked, locked and connected," Meloni told the New York Post last year. "It almost feels that we won't do one or two [crossover] episodes and move on our merry way. I just think there will always be possibilities there. People will always be hungry to see how we interact and how that dynamic has changed."

Less than two weeks away, the crossover event will start with Stabler's return to Law & Order: SVU on April 1, 2021, immediately followed by the premiere of Meloni's solo series Law & Order: Organized Crime. The sneak peek photo was posted by Law & Order on Twitter.
