L.A.'s Finest, the TV spin-off of popular movie franchise Bad Boys, has become the center of an unfortunate incident that resulted in showrunner Brandon Sonnier losing his leg. This was caused by a terrifying chain reaction car stunt gone wrong on set.

The accident happened Thursday before last, during shooting on an episode of the new series. /bad-boys-tv-series-spin-off-gabrielle-union/ Brandon Sonnier serves as both the showrunner and executive producer. He was on set in San Pedro, California along with executive producer and co-showrunner Brandon Margolis.

Jessica Alba stars in the action-packed spin-off alongside Gabrielle Union, who is reprising her role from Bad Boys II. Sonnier and Margolis were situated inside the video village, where they could watch the stunt taking place on monitors. During the scene in question, the stunt car hit a cargo crate, which caused it to slam into the tent where the showrunners were situated.

It is reported that Sonnier is still in the hospital. California's Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) have opened an ongoing investigation into what caused the accident to happen. No one else was injured in the stunt. Production did shut down last Friday. Head of Spectrum Originals, Katherine Pope said this about the accident.

"We are saddened by this incident and send our most heartfelt wishes to our two beloved crew members, hoping their recovery is both swift and complete."
