Christy Carlson Romano, the original star of Kim Possible, has revealed that she will have a part in the upcoming live-action movie. The movie was announced earlier this year and it stars Sadie Stanley in the title role this time around. In addition to Romano, the Disney Channel live-action film also sees the return of comedian Patton Oswalt, who will reprise his role as the villainous Professor Dementor. This is very exciting news for fans of the hit show, which originally ran from 2002 to 2007.

Christy Carlson Romano revealed that she is in the Kim Possible live-action movie this weekend in a new interview. While she is very excited for the role, which she teased on social media Friday night, she did not offer up any details about her cameo. Romano is excited to bring the "empowered female character" to a new generation. She had this to say.

"I can't say too much about my involvement yet, but I'm very excited to help usher in the strong, empowered female character I helped bring to life, to a new generation. And I'm equally thrilled to see what the original fans think!"

Patton Oswalt also confirmed his role in the Kim Possible live-action movie on Twitter, stating that he can't wait for fans of the original series to see what they have done. As previously mentioned, Oswalt is reprising his role as Professor Dementor. The villain is a mad scientist who is a threat to the world. However, he seems to be more concerned with competing against his rival Dr. Drakken. The character is known for Oswalt's over-the-top heavy German accent.

The Kim Possible live-action movie was first announced in February of this year. No release date has been set for the film, but it's expected to premiere on the Disney Channel some time in 2019. Production wrapped on the movie back at the end of July and will more than likely head into reshoots this fall. It is not clear if Patton Oswalt and Christy Carlson Romano have filmed their parts for the project at this time. While Oswalt's role is clear, Romano's may end up being kept under wraps for the time being.

In addition to Christy Carlson Romano, Patton Oswalt, and Sadie Stanley, the Kim Possible live-action movie also stars Sean Giambrone as Ron Stoppable, Kim's sidekick and best friend, Alyson Hannigan as Dr. Ann Possible and Kim's brain surgeon mother, and Connie Ray as Nana Possible as Kim's grandmother. Todd Stashwick portrays Dr. Drakken, who is a mad scientist and Kim's nemesis, Taylor Ortega plays Shego, Drakken's flame-fisted henchwoman, Erika Tham palys Bonnie Rockwaller, Kim's frenemy since childhood, Ciara Wilson is Athena, a new student at Kim's school, and Issac Ryan Brown as Wade, who is a teen computer genius and ace inventor.
