Those of us who are currently cooped up at home for the foreseeable future in need of something new to watch have just been given a gift by AMC and BBC America. Killing Eve season 3 will now debut two full weeks earlier than expected, with the acclaimed drama previously set to arrive on Sunday, April 26. To help add to the hype, a new trailer for season 3 has also been released, which previews the return of Villanelle and Eve.

This comes at a time when many movies and TV shows are being delayed with uncertainty surrounding their respective returns. So having one of the most beloved shows on television right now coming back early is certainly a welcome bit of news. Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studios, had this to say in a statement.

"We know how adored this series is and we know how keen people are for great content right now. This season of Killing Eve digs deep psychologically, and with actors like Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw the results are nothing short of astonishing. We literally couldn't wait for fans to see it."

Killing Eve was created by Emmy-winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is also behind the hit series Fleabag. The show is led by Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh. The ensemble for season 3 also includes Harriet Walter, Danny Sapani, Gemma Whelan, Camille Cottin, Steve Pemberton, Raj Bajaj, Turlough Convery, Pedja Bjelac and Evgenia Dodina. The news was also confirmed by the show's official Twitter account, which shared the new trailer with the following caption.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh. #KillingEve returns two weeks early, Sunday, April 12 at 9pm on BBC America and AMC."

Killing Eve tells the story of two women with brutal pasts who are addicted to each other but are trying desperately to live their lives without their drug of choice. Villanelle (Jodie Comer) is an assassin without a job and Eve (Sandra Oh) is dead. Eve is an ex-MI6 operative who has been in plain sight where Villanelle will never find her. All seems well until a shocking and personal death sets them on a path leading right toward one another yet again. The journey back to each other will cost both of them dearly, in the form of friends, family and allegiance.

This is good news for AMC, as The Walking Dead season 10 finale recently had to be postponed, as did the premiere of a new spin-off, Walking Dead: World Beyond. Killing Eve debuted in April 2018 and has been widely embraced as one of the best shows running right now. It has received several prestigious accolades, including a Peabody Award. It also carries a stellar 94 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Be sure to check out the new trailer for yourself. Killing Eve season 3 Returns on April 12 on BBC America and AMC.
