Since every season of FX's hit horror anthology series American Horror Story is always much different than the last, it's never quite clear which cast members are coming back, and which aren't. Today, series creator Ryan Murphy revealed that series newcomers Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett have been asked to come back next season.

"I have approached them and they wanna do it. That's very exciting when you can work with A.) actresses you've always idolized and B.) those two are loving this season. They love what they get to do. Kathy Bates sent the writers a basket of plush toys all in the shapes of disemboweled organs. It doesn't get better than when an Oscar winner sends you a grab bag of stuffed pancreas to say 'Thank you and job well done.'"

Yesterday, we reported that FX handed out a 13-episode order for Season 4 of the hit series, which will likely debut next October.

Both actresses joined the cast in this current season, American Horror Story: Coven, playing immortal enemies Madame LaLaurie and Marie Laveaux. It isn't known what the focus of Season 4 will be quite yet, since we still have nine more episodes left of American Horror Story: Coven this season. The season finale airs January 29, 2014 on FX.
