Back in February, it was confirmed that principal photography on Justice League will begin in April, but, nearly two months after shooting has started, we haven't heard much about the movie. Over the weekend, DC Films' Geoff Johns revealed that the first movie title will simply be Justice League, not Justice League Part 1 as previously announced. But we still don't have a confirmed synopsis or cast list quite yet. Today, however, we get our first look at star J.K. Simmons, who is playing Commissioner Gordon, in training mode for this movie.

While we don't know if J.K. Simmons has started shooting his scenes on Justice League quite yet, this photo from fitness professional Aaron Williamson's Instagram teases that the 61-year-old actor is getting into great shape to play Commissioner Gordon. The actor is also seen sporting a rather long beard as he works out, but we don't know for sure if he'll be keeping the beard for production or not. It also isn't known if Commissioner Gordon will be involved in any of the action scenes in Justice League, but he certainly does look ready to take on anyone that Gotham City has to offer.

Just a few days before Geoff Johns confirmed the title, four rumored titles surfaced, Justice League: United, Justice League: Angels & Demons, Justice League: Gods Among Us and Justice League: Gods Among Men. It's possible that the studio may change their mind and eventually use one of these titles, or use one of them for Justice League Part 2, which is set for release on June 14, 2019. We'll have to wait and see if Warner Bros. makes any sort of official announcement regarding Justice League in the near future.

As for J.K. Simmons' Commissioner Gordon, the actor revealed in April that he starts filming some time in June, although he has a very small role in the first movie. He added that he hopes to continue playing this iconic character in upwards of four or more movies, but we're not sure what other movies he may appear in. Warner Bros. recently confirmed that Ben Affleck is making a stand alone Batman reboot, so it's possible that Gordon could surface in that movie.

Justice League Part 1 is shooting at Leavesden studios in southeast England, and will utilize on-location shoots in London and Iceland. Zack Snyder is directing from a script by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice writer Chris Terrio, with Warner Bros. setting a November 17, 2017 release date.
