Can't get enough of John Wick? Well, you just so happen to be in luck, because Lionsgate has big plans for the franchise moving forward. Though, the franchise is going to have to expand beyond the man in order to keep going. Recently it was revealed that the John Wick TV series, titled The Continental, is going to center on the assassin's hotel showcased in the first two movies and will explore other characters within that world. It will not focus on Keanu Reeves' titular character. But will he at least show up in the series in some form or another? Probably.

John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski recently spoke with IndieWire about the TV series and, though he couldn't reveal much, did dish some of the details. At one point, the subject of Keanu Reeves showing up in the show, even though it won't necessarily be about him, came up. Here's what he had to say about it.

"I think he would make an appearance. I think that's part of his thing, [But the series] isn't centered around John Wick."

The Continental is a very rich thing to explore, as there are countless characters worth taking a look at within that relatively small part of the vast John Wick universe. Stahelski says that the show will take a look at the various Continental hotels all over the world and will look at how some of the smaller characters come in and out of that world. But, as we've seen in the movies, John Wick is a borderline mythical figure in that universe. Everyone knows who he is and his reputation is the stuff of legend. So, even if the show isn't going to be about him, it only seems natural that his presence would be felt in some way.

Chad Stahelski isn't going to direct every episode of The Continental, but he is going to be heavily involved. He is currently busy prepping John Wick 3, which he may or may not direct, as well as his planned Highlander reboot. As for Keanu Reeves, he is quite busy as well. That actually forced the pair to put their other show Rain on hold for now. But the good news is that Reeves actually is prioritizing John Wick right now, which means there is a good chance he'll make room for The Continental in his schedule, whenever it gets off the ground.

"It deals with Keanu's schedule. He's a busy guy, and he's in love with the 'Wick' franchise, so he wants to put his time and energy into that."

John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2 are rare things in the world of action movies, and Hollywood in general these days. They are original stories that are super compelling, well-made and loaded down with great, original action. In an age when every studio is trying to cobble together a franchise, John Wick did it without even trying. Expanding that to TV with The Continental makes perfect sense. It's just nice to know that Keanu Reeves will (probably) be along for the ride, even if it's in a limited capacity.
