Break out the six packs and suntan lotion. The shore is back! Pauly D, JWoww, Vinny, Ronnie, Snooki and The Situation are all confirmed to reunite in the new MTV series Jersey Shore Family Vacation. This Jersey Shore revival will be washing up on the beaches of MTV sometime in 2018.

It's been five years since Jersey Shore closed shop on MTV, airing its last new episodes. But nothing has ever hit that level of success for the network since. Now, MTV is bringing a new take to the reality series, with several of the original cast back onboard for all the fun.

The reunion show was announced during the premiere of MTV's new spin-off Floribama Shore. Featured players for Jersey Shore Family Vacation include Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul "Pauly D" Delvecchio, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. They were all featured in Seasons 1 through 6 of the original series. Except for Deena Nicole Cortese, who didn't make her first appearance until Season 3.

Creator SallyAnn Salsano, who serves as executive producer on Floribama Shore, is working with her 495 Productions banner. MTV head of unscripted Nina L. Diaz and Jackie French will oversee the revival series. There is no episode count at this time. And a premiere date will be announced in early 2018.

Airing for six very successful seasons, Jersey Shore still stands as one of MTV's highest rated series of all time. The show, which was unscripted, followed a group of party-happy friends living in the Garden State. MTV claims it's their most popular show ever, with the series peaking in 2011, when it reached 9 million viewers per episode. There have been multiple spin-offs in the years since, including Snooki & JWoww and The Show With Vinny. The show has also spun-off into several local versions in various countries.

MTV president Chris McCarthy wants to bring his cable network back to its heyday. They are attempting to go after more upbeat programming, while capturing the aloof millennial viewer. Total Request Live is another show that was recently revived.

E! has a docuseries coming called Reunion Road Trip, which also reunites the Jersey Shore cast. The Hollywood Reporter remarks that reviving Jersey Shore is not a surprise move. They note that it is incredibly difficult for new titles to find footing amongst the current spat of over 700 unscripted shows airing on various different cable networks. The Jersey Shore revival arrives at the same time ABC is reviving American Idol, which comes only a year after Fox canceled that singing competition.

MTV has released a short teaser for Jersey Shore Family Vacation. Though, it doesn't offer fans much aside from Snooki declaring, 'We're back, bitchesssssss!' And admiting that the entire cast simply can't wait to get back inside your TV for some hard partying and nasty under the pier shenanigans. Take a look.
