Ken Jennings was expertly trolled by a Jeopardy! contestant earlier this week. Jennings is a Jeopardy! wizard, not many people would dispute that, but one contestant decided to remind the current host of his biggest mistake. The highest-earning American game show contestant of all time is currently taking over hosting duties for Alex Trebek, who sadly passed away in November of 2020 after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Jennings is one of many who will be guest hosting throughout 2021.

Back in 2004, Ken Jennings had won 74 games of Jeopardy! in a row. However, that all came to a stop after one fatal error during Final Jeopardy on his 75th game. The clue was: Most of this firm's 70,000 seasonal white-collar employees work only four months a year. The correct answer was H&R Block, but Jennings said FedEx and lost to Nancy Zerg. It's been 17 years since Jennings blew it, and one contestant was intent on not letting the guest host forget the dreaded question.

Jeopardy! contestant Brian Chang decided to have a bit of fun with Ken Jennings during Final Jeopardy. Chang had a decent lead over his fellow challengers and the clue had to do with The Business of Travel. His two challengers came up with the right response, which is, "What is Motel 6?" However, Chang knew he could still win with a wrong answer, so he did so in style. He answered with, "What is H&R Block?" Diehard Jeopardy! fans new exactly what Chang was referencing, as did Ken Jennings, who took it all in stride, much like Alex Trebek would have done.

Ken Jennings responded, "I know from experience H&R Block is sometimes the right answer but not today. Even though you brought back some bad memories for me, you're still gonna go home with $13,201." Brian Chang won, and was able to troll Jennings in a lighthearted way. Plus, the audience got a big kick out of it too. While people are happy to see Jeopardy! continue, the world is still mourning the loss of Alex Trebek, and still wondering who will be taking over permanent hosting duties of the iconic show.

Katie Couric, Bill Whittaker, Mayim Bialik, and Aaron Rogers are set to guest host Jeopardy! this year. Ken Jennings was the logical first choice to take over the guest host slot, and paid tribute to Alex Trebek on his first episode. "You know, sharing the stage with Alex Trebek was one of the greatest honors of my life. Not many things in life are perfect, but Alex did this job pretty much perfectly for more than 36 years and it was even better up close," he said. As for who will get the gig permanently, that is a mystery at the moment. With that being said, the clear fan-favorite is LeVar Burton. While we wait to find out who will host the show, you can watch Ken Jennings get trolled above, thanks to the official Jeopardy! YouTube channel.
