Marvel is bringing its upcoming Netflix series Iron Fist to New York Comic Con this weekend, with its official panel on Saturday, October 8 at 6:30 PM at the Javits Center. While we wait to see what will be unveiled during this panel, Marvel has debuted a new variant comic book cover that features an artistic rendition of Iron Fist star Finn Jones. If that wasn't enough, we also have a special time lapsed video that shows how artist Jay Anacleto and colorist Romulo Fajardo created this piece of art.

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family's legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist. Iron Fist will premiere on March 17, 2017 at 12:01am PT in all territories where Netflix is available.

Iron Fist is the fourth of Marvel's Netflix original series, following Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage which debuted this past weekend. All of these shows are leading up to the teaming of the main characters in The Defenders miniseries on Netflix. The drama will premiere with thirteen (13) one-hour episodes. Billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones) returns to New York City, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

Carrie-Anne Moss will be reprising her role from Jessica Jones as lawyer Jeri Hogarth, who will assist Danny Rand as he returns to New York. The Iron Fist cast also includes Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, David Wenham as Harold Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum and Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum. Scott Buck serves as executive producer and showrunner of Iron Fist, with Jeph Loeb also serving as executive producer. Iron Fist is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

This summer, Jeph Loeb revealed in an interview that Simone Missick's Luke Cage character Misty Knight was set to appear in Iron Fist, but that was later corrected to Luke Cage. There is also speculation that she could get her own spin-off, especially since Marvel and Netflix have confirmed that The Punisher spin-off will debut in 2017. While we wait for more on Iron Fist and the rest of the Marvel Netflix shows, take a look at the NYCC variant comic book cover for Iron Fist and the time lapsed video.
