Netflix's The Haunting of Bly Manor will be bringing in a familiar face, as Victoria Pedretti is set to play one of the lead roles on the second season of the horror anthology series. Last year, the streaming service brought us The Haunting of Hill House. While that story concluded, they decided to continue the series with a season 2 that will be telling a completely different story. Namely, an adaptation of The Turn of the Screw. And Pedretti is along for the creepy ride.

Several reports initially announced that The Haunting of Hill House star Victoria Pedretti was set to return to the Haunting universe before it was officially confirmed by the show's official Twitter account. A video was posted with the actress sharing the news herself, in addition to revealing details about who she will be playing. Here's what Victoria Pedretti had to say.

"I'm very excited to announce that I will be returning to the Haunting universe in season 2, The Haunting of Bly Manor. I play Dani, a governess who takes care of two very unusual children. Our incredible writing team is writing the new season right now and I'm so excited to get going. It will hit Netflix in 2020, and I think you're gonna love it."

The new season was initially announced by Netflix in February. Mike Flanagan, who directed every episode of The Haunting of Hill House, which is adapted from Shirley Jackson's beloved 1959 novel of the same name, will return. He's currently finishing up The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep, which is set to arrive in theaters later this year. After that, he's heading back to the small screen. Flanagan took to Twitter to share the news as well and had this to say.

"The star of The Haunting of Bly Manor will be familiar to fans of Hill House... excited to work with Victoria again!"

The Turn of the Screw is a heralded novella initially published in 1898. Written by Henry James, the story centers on a governess who arrives at a countryside English estate and is tasked with looking after a pair of young children. Things seem fine at first, but gradually, unsettling events begin to unfold. The story, in the book, is largely told through narration. Since its publication, the tale has been praised as one of the greatest ghost stories ever written.

Victoria Pedretti's role as Crain Vance in The Haunting of Hill House was her first acting job out of college. It certainly gave her a boost, as she's also set to star in the second season of You and also landed a role in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The Haunting of Bly Manor does not yet have a release date set. We'll be sure to keep you posted as any additional details on the project are made available.
