Netflix has released a new trailer for Haters Back Off Season 2, marking the return of Colleen Ballinger's iconic character Miranda Sings. Her life may be in shambles, but Miranda's finally gone viral! Now she's ready to take on her next big challenge: making it to Broadway. The new trailer shows how Miranda's uncle hatches a plan to make her a Broadway star, while teasing the long-awaited debut of Miranda's father, who unfortunately isn't shown in the trailer.

Based on the character created by Colleen Ballinger, Haters Back Off delves into the oddball family life of Miranda Sings, an incredibly confident, totally untalented star on the rise who continues to fail upward by the power of her belief that she was born famous, it's just no one knows it yet. The series stars Colleen Ballinger as Miranda Sings, Steve Little (HBO's Eastbound & Down) as Miranda's overly confident and utterly misguided Uncle Jim, Angela Kinsey (NBC's The Office) as Miranda's mom, Bethany, and Erik Stocklin, Miranda's neighbor and best friend, Patrick.

Miranda has referred to her mom for years on her YouTube channel, but she has never been seen until the first season. The way Bethany dotes on her daughter helps explain Miranda's peculiar behavior. Miranda has also made several references to her Uncle on the wildly popular YouTube videos, which have suggested they have a unique relationship. Her online fans had been anxiously awaiting the reveal of her overly confident, utterly misguided Uncle, and now with this new season, fans will finally get to meet the father of Miranda Sings.

The Miranda Sings character was created in 2008 by actress, comedian and YouTube personality Colleen Ballinger, as a parody of untalented yet egotistical singers who thought they could become famous by singing on YouTube. Her YouTube channel had a relatively modest following, but a People Magazine profile on Ballinger in 2013 helped her channel explode in popularity, growing exponentially ever since. As of August 2017, her YouTube channel has passed 1.4 billion views, with 8 million subscribers, while the Miranda Sings Instagram has 6 million followers as well.

Colleen Ballinger has also appeared in other shows as her Miranda Sings character, including episodes of Victorious, Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She also released a book written in Miranda's voice entitled Self-Help in 2015, which became a #1 New York Times best-seller. Colleen Ballinger co-created the series Haters Back Off alongside her brother Chris Ballinger, Gigi McCreer and Perry Rein, with the creators also serving as executive producers alongside Jeff Kwatinetz and Josh Barry.
