Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, Southland writer Sara Gran, and HBO are teaming up for a new series based on Corinne May Botz's book Nutshell Studies.

The story centers on a small-town housewife in the 1950s who becomes obsessed with solving brutal crimes. Sara Gran will write the pilot script and executive produce with Guillermo del Toro, who will direct the pilot episode. Guillermo del Toro's manager, Gary Unger, is also attached as an executive producer, with author Corinne May Botz serving as a consultant.

Guillermo del Toro is also developing an Incredible Hulk series for ABC with writer-producer David Eick. His next big-screen adventure, Pacific Rim, hits theaters next summer.
