Last week, a series of screencaps from the Gotham pilot offered what many thought were our first look at The Joker. This character played by Jon Beavers was an unnamed stand-up comedian who performs in gangster Jada Pinkett Smith's nightclub, but, according to a new report, this is just the first tease fans will get of a potential Joker.

Bleeding Cool reports that every Season 1 episode of Gotham will introduce a new character that may be The Clown Prince of Crime, with, "each emphasizing aspects of the character's iconography, a card sharp, a flower seller, a clown, or just a guy with a very big grin." One of these characters will ultimately be revealed as The Joker.

Back in May, Gotham series creator Bruno Heller confirmed that The Joker will be appearing on the show at some point, although he would not say when he would be popping up. He added that, "the crown jewel of Batman villains" will be "brought in with great care and a lot of thought."
