Gotham is heading into its fourth season and it looks like we are finally going to get some real deal Batman action this year. After three seasons of build up, the young Bruce Wayne finally got his first taste of fighting crime at the end of Gotham season 3. And he liked it. Now, thanks to a new Gotham season 4 promo, we get an even better look at Bruce Wayne's early Batsuit, as well as a much better look at the villain Scarecrow.

The new Gotham season 4 trailer was unveiled by Entertainment Weekly and gives us probably the best footage yet from the upcoming season. A previous, brief promo for Gotham's new season gave us a taste of the early version of the Batsuit, but this trailer actually shows us a few new shots and features a little more of David Mazouz's Bruce Wayne in action fighting crime. It looks like Gotham is finally going to become more of a Batman show as opposed to an all around rogue's gallery show centered on Commissioner Gordon and the Gotham City bad guys.

This new promo also gives us a much better look at Scarecrow, who is set up to be the big bad this season on Gotham. In this trailer, he looks pretty convincing and may even be able to give Cillian Murphy's version from Batman Begins a run for his money, if executed correctly. We also see a very brief shot of what looks to be a more fully-formed version of Joker than we've seen on the show previously. Plus, Penguin is still out there doing his thing. Someone needs to clean up Gotham's streets, and it looks like the young Bruce Wayne is going to be the one to step up.

In Gotham Season 4, the famed DC Comics city's origin story continues to unfold and the stakes will be higher than ever. With the Court of Owls decimated, the aftermath of the Tetch virus crippling the city, and every (surviving) villain in Gotham's underworld jockeying for power, Jim Gordon and the GCPD will have their hands full. And that's just the beginning. What threat does Ra's al Ghul pose? Will Penguin regain his title as the King of Gotham? What new villains are in store for season 4 other than Scarecrow? There is a lot to unpack heading into Gotham Season 4.

Gotham Season 4 is going to be moving to Thursdays on Fox this season, with the new season is slated to premiere on September 21. By the looks of things, Bruce Wayne is finally going to start fulfilling his destiny and become Gotham City's Dark Knight. This show may finally be living up to its full potential this year.
