If you've seen any of the previous trailers from Season 2 of Gotham, debuting Monday, September 21 at 8 PM ET on Fox, you have noticed that this season has been dubbed "Rise of the Villains." Today, Fox has released a new trailer which shows some of the villains who will rise above the GCPD, including Penguin (Robin Taylor), Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) and Catwoman (Camren Bicondova). This trailer shows all of these villains immortalized in a bronze statue, and while we don't see any new footage, their dialogue gives us some clues into the upcoming season.

Penguin (Robin Taylor) has taken over as the King of Gotham and after a shakeup at the GCPD, Detective James Gordon's (Ben McKenzie) moral compass wavers, as he seeks help from Penguin. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) continues to explore the secrets from his father's office, while Gotham newcomers Theo Galavan and his sister, Tabitha, make friends with some unlikely allies, a group of dangerous inmates from Arkham in the all-new Damned If You Do. We saw Theo and Tabitha meet these inmates, including The Joker, in a new clip released last week.

You may recall that early set photos showed The Joker outside of the Arkham walls, pulling off what appeared to be some sort of heist. Perhaps this is the first mission Theo Galivan entrusts The Joker and the rest of these Arkham inmates with, but we'll have to wait until the Season 2 premiere debuts next week to find out for sure. Regardless of their mission, if Theo and Tabitha can just pick and choose what inmates they want to liberate from Arkham, they will most certainly be powerful adversaries for Gordon and the rest of the GCPD.

Also returning from the critically-acclaimed Season 1 is Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle/the future Catwoman, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma/the future Riddler, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, Nicholas D'Agosto as Harvey Dent, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Sarah Essen and Morena Baccarin as Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Michael Chiklis also joins the cast this season as Detective Nathaniel Barnes. When we first reported on his casting, the character was named Captain Nathanial Barnes, who becomes a new ally to Jim Gordon, so it seems likely that he will rise through the ranks to become captain throughout the season.

The guest cast includes Drew Powell as Butch Gilzean, Peter Scolari as Commissioner Loeb, Anthony Carrigan as Victor Zsasz, James Andrew O'Connor as Tommy Bones, David Fierro as Zaardon, Cameron Monaghan as Jerome, Todd Stashwick as Richard Sionis, Will Brill as Arnold Dobkins, Stink Fisher as Aaron Helzinger, Dustin Ybarra as Robert Greenwood, Otto Sanchez as Odgen Barker and Philip Goodwin as Compere.
